Amy

My name is Amy and I have had a long relationship with therapies of different kinds for over ten years , firstly as the patient and then my interests travelled to the other side to that of the therapist.

I lived in Hong Kong and it was here that I saw how eastern therapies were part of daily life and I wanted to know more. I studied Reiki in Thailand and then came home to the UK to further my studies and have some formal teaching.

I trained at the West London School for Therapeutic Massage. I studied CranioSacral Therapy under Zakia Collins (Upledger USA C.S.T Practitioner) for four years prior coming to Spain in 2003.

While Reiki deals with the positive powers of healing energy, CranioSacral therapy takes it a step further that requires knowledge of anatomy. CST is often unknown to many people, so I felt it would enhance my treatments by passing the ITEC Massage, Anatomy and Physiology exam to combine the familiar massage techniques with the quietly beneficial results of CST.

CranioSacral Therapy is a fully clothed treatment that produces profound relaxation. Gentle specific moves performed by the therapist identify areas of imbalance, and in turn facilitate the body's own desire to self -correct. The CranioSacral system and the techniques used offer a bridge between objective medicine and spiritual healing.

This therapy focuses on problem solving: it enhances vitality, boosts the immune system, improves spinal cord function and reduces the accumulated stress we suffer in our busy lives. The treatment has many different effects, some people sleep, describing visions of color and feelings of floating, other people say they could run a marathon after a session. Your body decides how to 'use' the session- there is no forced manipulation just gentle change and improvement.

I offer this treatment purely for well being rather than a diagnostic tool. With this treatment you can help to alleviate headaches, neck pain, stress, and can offer a very effective way of achieving deep relaxation and calm.

The general benefits of touch are reknown. We all love it when someone gives your shoulders a squeeze. Although massage is a treat we often deny ourselves, if you take the time to have a regular massage you will feel the results sooner than you think.

I trained in Swedish massage which is all about getting the blood flowing and working into the muscles to create an exchange of fresh oxygenated blood which combats daily aches and pains.

Physically, the massage increases metabolism, hastens healing, relaxes and refreshes the muscles and improves the detoxifying functions of the lymphatic system. Massage has direct psychological benefits, massage relieves fatigue, reduces tension and anxiety, calms the nervous system and promotes a sense of relaxation and renewed energy. Massage is an integration of mind, body and spirit, a perfect way to boost our energy flow at all levels.

If you feel you would benefit from these treatments I look forward to meeting you and helping you to relax on your holiday or improve on your daily life in Tarifa.

My best to you,

Amy.
